About the Opportunity

NWS currently has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Mississauga, ON. 

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will lead a team of accountants and be responsible for financial reporting, cash flow management, and treasury operations. You will bring a strong background in accounting principles and practices, coupled with exceptional leadership and analytical skills, to help us achieve financial excellence.

While no two days will ever be the same in this pivotal role, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the monthly financial close process, including accrual entries, general ledger reviews, intercompany transactions, and variance analysis
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve variances
  • Preparing and consolidating financial statements for senior management and external stakeholders in compliance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Directing the year-end closing process, overseeing preparation for external audits, and acting as the main liaison for auditors
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to assess submissions and ensure accuracy through cost analysis
  • Conducting weekly cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity, performing variance analysis, and presenting optimization recommendations
  • Overseeing treasury operations, including intercompany transactions, credit card reconciliations, and shareholder account monitoring
  • Supervising a finance team of four (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to ensure timely and accurate deliverables, resolving issues, and mentoring team members
  • Leading the payroll function to ensure accurate, compliant bi-weekly processing via ADP, government remittances, and adherence to internal HR policies
  • Preparing documentation for onboarding/offboarding (Hire/Fire) processes

More About You

To qualify, you will need a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a CPA designation (or working toward it). A minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, will also be essential. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly SAP, is required.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles and practices
  • Experience with accounts payable, and bank reconciliation processes
  • Knowledge of financial auditing procedures and compliance regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and problem-solving
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
  • Experience with ADP, and previous HR or payroll experience
